"You can take no credit for beauty at sixteen. But if you are beautiful at sixty, it will be your soul's own doing." Marie Stopes
My Story
The time came when the risk it took
To remain tight in a bud was more painful
Than the risk it took to blossom.
Anais Nin
I have been greatly blessed to have experienced a wonderful adventure. For seven years, I lived, worked, traveled, explored and shopped in Europe and Africa. The result is that a small-town Missouri girl (Kearney, y’all) discovered her life’s passion: To help every woman, at every age, in every circumstance recognize and celebrate her loveliness. I will always say loveliness because beauty is something that no person can bestow. It is accessible to every woman and comes from a heart not a hanger.
In 2004, I began my House of Colour journey with a Colour Analysis. The difference made by wearing my best colours was immediate and radical. Compliments flowed in a way I had never experienced. I recall that day vividly because I saw something powerful that day. First, I was far more attractive than I had ever believed. Colour is the perfect tool to make all that is wonderful appear, but misused it reveals false flaws. Second, I saw a person of worth reflected back in the mirror. Please don’t misunderstand and believe I thought myself better than another. For the first time, I realize I was worthy of being noticed. Every woman (and man) needs and deserves to be noticed. I dare you to give it a try.
Once I invested in an Image Day, I was empowered to build a wardrobe around my body and personality. I stand in front of my closet excited about my options. I now purchase higher quality clothes and have something wonderful to wear for every occasion, but spend less money. I am confident that I look great and understand what my clothes are saying about me. I also dress in a way that is authentic to my character. I was able to shed other’s expectations of who I should be. I realized that I was the only person with all the pieces to the puzzle, even though I needed an expert to help me discover how to put those pieces together. Do you know what it is like to feel at home in your clothes? It is something beyond comfort; it is when the clothes become a natural extension of you. It’s liberating!
My experience was so life-changing, I want to be part of that revelation with others. A life of possibility is waiting…are you dressed for it?
